 | One of the things I liked about Joker was that tension throughout the movie. You know that Arthur's going to transform in the Joker, and while you're rooting for him at first, you're just waiting for the other shoe to fall.  | I watched Joker for the first time a month ago. I was utterly amazed at this film and watched it again immediately. Since that first time watch 4 weeks ago I think I've seen it now 10 times and the nuance and story are still coming out of it. Awesome film.  | He practiced with the sign for 2-3 days regardless of the fact that there are no close ups or clear shots of his face while doing anything more than just turning it to face the right way. Sure got their moneys worth having him do hours of useless practicing for a 2 second scene instead of hiring someone to put on the makeup and knock those shots out 10 minutes.  | I just watched the Joker, and I’m actually surprised at the response it had. To be honest, it was quite benign compared to other movies out there, as far as violence goes, but what it did show - or tried to show - was how society treats people who are different, underprivileged, and voiceless. In my mind, that is what people were afraid to see and walked out on - the truth of how awful people are to one another and the repercussions of that. The worst violence in the film was that against Arthur. And no one wants to see that reality because there are too many guilty hands. These are the people society often punishes, blames, and leaves behind. No one wants to look at the weight of what that person carries, and what they have to live with every day.
