 | I was under the impression, if the photos are not being used for commercial use. No contract is needed. Copy right is the photographers. So there would be no legal action the jealous boyfriend could take. Correct me if I am wrong. But pretty sure your friend is totally safe from any legal action.  | Sadly I have been in this situation a few different times. I have worked in the industry for 10 years and it happens. It's not always the bf, I have worked with models that had an agent that has done the same thing. As a professional, I no longer shoot without a release form even though Cali (the state I live in) the rights always fall back to the Photographer. It just makes things easier in the long run.  | To be honest I'm definitely with you on the contract thing, like you said.. It's so ridiculous to have to do contracts just to have a good time with friends. I'd say only do it for professional reasons, but if for some reason there is some mistrust between you and a friend... whip out the contract lol Also I have a question about photographing models. So I want to practice my photography skills on one of my friends who wants to become a model... Do photographers generally still charge models for prints and digital images?
